Fire Door Safety Week 2016 is just around the corner

This year’s Fire Door Safety Week promises to educate, excite, surprise and shock in equal measure.

FDIS is proud to be a founding partner of Fire Door Safety Week, alongside the BWF-Certifire Scheme and the government’s Fire Kills campaign.

This year, Fire Door Safety Week will focus on fire door safety in housing, including tower blocks, houses of multiple occupancy and other types of shared domestic dwelling.

The campaign will also help to mark the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London.

You may have heard about a recent tower block fire in Shepherd’s Bush, which once again brought the importance of fire safety in high-rise buildings into sharp focus. Thankfully, no one was killed in that fire and only minor injuries were sustained by some residents. But incidents like these highlight the crucial role fire safety devices such as fire doors play in protecting lives and property.

Fire Door Safety Week, which this year takes place from 26 September to 2 October, will feature a host of exciting events and activities to promote that message.
