FDIS qualified staff at Arnold Laver hits double figures
Timber merchant and doorset manufacturer Arnold Laver is firmly focussed on ensuring its staff provide advice that its customers can trust. Amongst its diverse business interests the manufacture and sale of fire doors is a key part of its operation. So ensuring that its people understand all the issues relating to the specification, installation and maintenance of appropriate doorsets as well as their legal responsibilities to protect lives and property in the event of a fire is essential.
That’s why the company has invested in signing up 20 of its staff for the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) Diploma. Ten have already passed and a further ten are working their way through the online learning programme.
Group joinery buyer David Oldfield says: “Working with our customers to ensure that they purchase timber products that meet their specific requirements is a key part of what we do. Knowing that our team is equipped with the most up-to-date knowledge and that their understanding of the issues has been thoroughly tested gives me and our customers even greater confidence in them.”
